Monterrey, because of its proximity to the US, and is supported by Tamaulipas ports. In 2019, Chinese companies used 7,000m2 in Monterrey. In 2020, that grew to 25,000m2 and in 2021, they were occupying 275,000m2, according to the Mexican Association of Industrial Parks of Mexico.

In terms of productive infrastructure, Nuevo Leon has 94 industrial and/or technological parks in 14 municipalities throughout the state, two international airports, and 50 aerodromes.

Tamaulipas through the ports of Altamira and Tampico accounted for 14 2 of the total commercial movement excluding the movement of oil and ranked fourth nationally Import and export movements stood out with imports growing by 9 2 and exports growing by 8 4 The movement in the Port of Altamira increased by 7 2 from 21 8 million tons in 2017 to 23 4 million tons in 2018 Its import and export movements grew by 8 and 6 1 respectively This was caused by an increase of 8 5 in imports The Port of Tampico grew by 4 6 in its total movement including oil from 7 79 million tons in 2017 to 8 15 million tons in 2018 Its import and export movements grew by 9 and 17 8 respectively
